When I grow up I want to be…

When I grow up I want to be a Lawyer,Marine biologist, an animal trainer, or a zoologist.

Lawyer, I would like to be a lawyer because I love reading and helping others deal with their problems. I also like giving people advice.

Marine biologist, I would like to become a Marine Biologist because I love the ocean and sea animals. I love exploring the ocean and the beach. If you’re a Marine biologist you spend most of the time in the ocean or on the beach.

Animal Trainer, I would like to be a Animal Trainer because I love animals and would like to train some of them like dolphins or seals on how to do cool tricks. If I became an Animal trainer I would like to work with the seals or dolphins at Sea World in the Gold coast.

Zoologist, I would like to become a zoologist because I really like animals and the zoo. I would be very fascinated.

 

I would like to become a lawyer, Marine biologist, an animal trainer or a zoologist by the age of 25 at latest.

PALs Dodgeball Tournament

The PALs (Physical activity Leader) have been running a dodge ball tournament for the Year 4,5, and 6 . We run the dodge ball tournament on Wednesday morning tea, Thursday Lunch and Friday Lunch. The Year 4,5, and 6s are really excited.

One of the things we struggled with was getting the hall free on some days. Also getting the kids to settle down and know that when their  out their out. We made draws so the kids knew who they were playing against.

Overall this dodge ball tournament was quite fun and us PALs learnt a lot from this. I think the kids have had quite fun and enjoyed it.

Picture Book

Welcome back to my blog! Over the past 4 weeks we have been making picture books. My book is called the ‘three magical mermaids’. My main character is Cleo a bright twelve year old girl and she has her two best friends Isla and Emma. The trio that lives for the beach and summer. Until disaster strikes after the girls touch a shell that later turns them into mermaids after touching water. Read my book to find out the full story! What is your favourite picture book?

Act of kindness Advent Calender

Yesterday we started to do an advent calendar but it wasn’t like a chocolate  or lollies one it was one which everyday from 1st of December to 24th of December you do an act of kindness or an act of service, we had the option to do it digitally or  on paper, I decided to to mine on a slideshow. I  made the pink boxes the weekends,the purple boxes the weekdays and the blue boxes the holiday.

The Boy in Striped Pajamas

Over the past 5 weeks of term 4 we have been doing novel studies each person got placed into a group that got to read a novel, we got pick which ones we liked the most.The novels that the classes are reading are: Percy Jackson,Holes,Boy in the striped pajamas,The eagle in the snow and The book thief.

I was reading the boy in striped pajamas By John Boyne,I have just finished this book and really enjoyed reading it. The boy in striped pajamas was an amazing book to read. I thought that I would share my comprehension questions up to chapter 20.

Mary Fact File

Hello!

Over the last 2 weeks we have been learning about Mary and saints.

We had to make a fact file on St Mary first we added her Name,birth date,death date,place of birth,family members,significant events and feast day.

Then we wrote about The significance of Mary and the Rosary. Then we wrote about a mystery I picked a sorrowful mystery The Crucifixion.

I learnt that Mary has more than 1 feast day,did you know that?

Racism Task

On Monday for literacy we paired up and did a task about racism.

we got two options Jesse Owens or Tommy smith and John Carlos had not heard about Tommy smith and John Carlos we decided to do them. First we watched a video and then we read a text.We then made a chart.

  • It is important so to stand up for groups that have been treated unfairly so they can be treated equally and get what they deserve.
  • The Olympics have helped athletes of colour because they let them join and treated them fairly.
  • Fairness is when you play by the rules and don’t cheat we can promote fairness by not cheating and telling people to play by the rules.

Reading Create

This week in Reading we got to do a really cool create task.Our create task was to act like we were  althetes that were going to the Olympics and make a slideshow or poster about it. I chose to do a Slideshow,My chosen sport was diving. Next we had to answer the following questions, What challenges might you face and how will you overcome them.The I made a timetable for Monday-Friday and then Saturday-Sunday. please take a look at my slides.If you went to the Olympics what sport would you do.

PBL

This week for PBL we made mascots,medals,the torch and a map where the torch would go if New Zealand was holding the Olympics.I used Canva AI to make my mascot,medal and torch.How you use Canva AI  is you describe what you want the AI to make then scroll through the photos they create. If you don’t like one you can re describe it. Then I used my maps for the map of the torch. You just add checkpoints to each place you want the torch to go.

Ancient Olympics

As you might know the Olympics are coming up soon.

So we have started to learn about the Olympics but not the Olympics your thinking of. We have been learning about ancient Olympics for reading.The first slide had an image and some words explaining each sport.Our task for the first slide was to state some I notice and I wonder statements.The next slide we had to read a text we read this text with my reading group inside of my literacy group,we had to highlight any new vocabulary (new words) and paste them into the slide.On that same slide we added some key notes from the story.

3rd slide,On this slide we read another text and answered these questions,  what did the athletes wear at the ancient games?,What was the criteria athletes had to meet to be allowed to compete?,Why was it important for the athletes to take care of their skin?,Select one of the famous ancient games athletes and describe their achievements.,write one fact that you found to be interesting. 4th slide we read another text and wrote the key events of each day.Last slide we imagined if we were at the ancient Olympics what would we taste,feel,hear,smell and hear.Here is my slide please have a look.
